Test and study of slicing and caving mining method with strip stoping

(1). Brief introduction to the achievements
This project is for the problems in traditional slicing and caving mining method, i.e., the strip stoping process, they are: lower stoping capacity (30~40t/d), higher ore loss (10~15%) and dilution (15~20%), higher timber consumption, and higher mining cost., for which the mining method of slicing and caving with strip stoping was tested and studied. The purposes are to determine reasonable stoping process to enhance stope capacity, lower down ore loss and dilution, improve mine’s economic results, as well as to sensibly exploited and utilize underground resources to achieve optimization of the underground resources and maximization of mine benefits.
By application of strip stoping process and controlled blasting technology, the purposes to lower down ore loss and dilution, lighten labour intensity, enhance working efficiency, comprehensively utilize mine’s underground resources, and improve overall economic benefits.

(2) Main techno-economical indexes
Industrial tests and application shows that, compared with traditional slicing and caving mining method with drift stpoing, by this slicing and caving mining method with sub-level drifts and strip stoping, the stoping capacity was increased 77%, ore loss and dilution were decreased 50% and 47.4% respectively, direct mining cost decreased 33.3%.
(3) Potential of commercialization
According to the occurrences of orebody and the technology conditions for mining, the application of this slicing and caving mining method with sub-level drifts and strip stoping allows three stopes to be arranged, 7.956 million Yuan more profit may be made, a significant economic benefit, compared with traditional slicing and caving mining method with drift stpoing. From economical calculation for mining method, it can be seen that by using of this slicing and caving mining method with sub-level drifts and strip stoping instead of slicing and caving mining method with drift stpoing, if taking the tonnage benefit as 128.00/t, the remaining geological reserve in Zhenyuan Mine being 8.2842 million Yuan tons with the ore grade of 5.13g/t and contained gold of 42.49t, and 10% of the reserve being suitable for application of this new method based on geological analysis, an added profit of 108.80 million Yuan may be created, which displays great application potential with considerable economic benefits.
