High-pressure Roller Grinding Equipment of Mineral Processing and Metallurgy Department has been put into use

From March 9th to April 1st, under the guidance of technicians from CITIC Heavy Industries Co., LTD., Mineral Processing and Metallurgy Department of CCGRI completed the installation and commission of the high-pressure roller grinding equipment and it has now be enofficially put into use.
The high-pressure roller grinding technology is a major breakthrough of the three-stage crushing conventional process. It uses the principle of laminated crushing to effectively realize the fine crushing, ultra-fine crushing and grinding of materials. Nowadays, it is considered as the key technique in realizing “more crushing, less grinding”.
The core technology of the equipment is high-pressure material layer crushing. The crushing effect is achieved by squeezing the materials by two rollers rotating slowly opposite each other. Due to the fine energy distribution of the roller axis, the materials can absorb the energy evenly, thus greatly improve the energy efficiency. On the other hand, the equipment adopts side restrictions in the structure so as to improve the crushing probability and energy utilization rate; Material layer crushing can also make the ore crushing happen along the crystal interface, this can reduce excessive crushing and improve the dissociation degree of mineral monomer, the selective grinding effect is also quite remarkable . The grinding test of high-pressure roller equipment can provide strong technical support for the research of reducing grinding energy consumption, improve grinding particle size composition, raise the index of flotation , and increase stirring leaching as well as heap leaching rate.
The equipment introduced by Department of Mineral Processing and Metallurgy is the first laboratory standard high-pressure roller grinding device in China. After negotiated with CITIC, The equipment was designed, installed, debugged and delivered based on the requirements of CCGRI. Compared with the facilities commonly used in other scientific research institutes, it excels in higher pressure, stable material pressure and refined product classification.
The equipment now has been applied to the “West-Crutch Company Gold-bearing Heap Leaching Process Technology Development” project, which can effectively improve the rate of ore’s heap leaching recovery. It will also be applied to a series of research work, such as crushing and grinding energy saving and consumption reduction, optimizing the particle size of crushing and grinding products, heap leaching of low-grade gold silver bearing copper ore and etc. The high-pressure roller equipment can not only help CCGRI to improve its technique skills but also plays an important role in further promoting the construction of crushing and grinding platform.
